 Program Information
Program Mission: To use the principles of science and engineering to aid in the mitigation of and recovery following natural hazards, such as tsunamis, with a focus on ethical and humanitarian issues.

Program Status: The ISTIM Program was supported by the National Science Foundation and Air Force Office of Sponsored Research (ASSURE Program) for three years, enabling young engineers and scientists to engage in a unique research and field study summer experience in the summers of 2006, 2007 and 2008. Funding for the program has now concluded and applications for the program are no longer being taken.

This site will continue to be maintained to disseminate the research findings, field reporting and longitudinal tracing results from the participants. Thanks to all who supported, participated in and applied to ISTIM in recent years!
